Civil Aviation Minister denies plans to blend ethanol with aviation fuel

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu issued a statement on Thursday denying reports that the government plans to mix ethanol with Aviation Turbine Fuel. The minister stated that there is no such proposal and urged against the spread of misinformation, emphasizing that passenger safety remains the government's highest priority. He further clarified that ethanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel are distinct substances, noting that the latter is an internationally recognized fuel that undergoes rigorous testing.

The minister's remarks were made in response to claims by former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who had alleged on social media that the government was planning to blend ethanol into aviation fuel. These allegations had sparked public concern regarding the safety of air travel. The government has characterized the claims as unfounded and irresponsible, reiterating that aviation fuel standards are strictly maintained.
