Privacy Policy & Data Protection Notice

NewsPaksh is an automated news aggregation and discovery platform. We are committed to the strict protection of reader personal data in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act, 2023) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

1. Identity of the Data Fiduciary

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, the Data Fiduciary responsible for determining the purpose and means of processing personal data on this platform is:

Data Fiduciary: NewsPaksh

Jurisdiction: New Delhi, India

Email: hello@newspaksh.com

Grievance Officer: grievance@newspaksh.com

2. Categories of Data Processed & Statutory Purpose

We practice strict data minimization. We collect only what is strictly necessary to deliver web pages and ensure system security:

A. Technical Server Logs

When you request a page, our servers log technical parameters: your IP address (anonymized and truncated), timestamp of the request, URL path, and HTTP User-Agent string. This processing is performed strictly for the specified purpose of securing our systems against denial-of-service attacks, routing CDN traffic, and diagnosing infrastructure errors. Logs are rotated and purged on a rolling schedule.

B. Client-Side Preferences (LocalStorage)

Your reading preferences (such as light/dark theme, live wire visibility, and English headline translation preference) are stored 100% locally within your browser's localStorage. These settings are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

C. Communications and Grievance Data

If you contact our Grievance Officer, we retain your email address, name, and correspondence solely for the purpose of investigating and resolving your statutory grievance or correction notice.

3. Zero Third-Party Asset Leakage

NewsPaksh stores, caches, and hosts zero publisher brand imagery on our infrastructure. Where a 16x16 publisher mark appears beside a newsroom name, your browser requests it directly from the publisher under our Favicon Safe Harbour Protocol with referrerPolicy="no-referrer". This ensures the publisher cannot observe which page or story you are reading.

Any publisher that requests exclusion or whose server declines the request is permanently shown as a plain typographic monogram generated on our own origin.

When you choose to click an external article link in our chronological timeline, you are referred directly to that publisher's website. Once you leave our domain, your interaction is governed by the destination publisher's independent privacy policy.

4. Telemetry and Analytics Policy

NewsPaksh uses Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics 4) in an anonymized configuration to measure aggregate readership patterns (such as page views and section popularity). We do not sell, rent, or monetize reader data, and we do not deploy advertising trackers.

Honoring Do Not Track:We unconditionally respect the browser "Do Not Track" header (DNT: 1). If your browser sends this signal, all analytics logging is completely disabled. You may also opt out by setting localStorage.setItem('analytics_opt_out', 'true') in your browser console.

5. Children's Personal Data (Section 9, DPDP Act)

NewsPaksh is a general news discovery service and does not target or knowingly process the personal data of children. We do not engage in behavioral monitoring, tracking, or targeted advertising directed at minors.

6. Your Statutory Rights as a Data Principal

Under Sections 11, 12, and 13 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Right to Access: Request a summary of personal data being processed by NewsPaksh and the identities of any Data Processors.
  • Right to Correction & Erasure: Request the correction, completion, or deletion of obsolete personal data where processing is no longer necessary.
  • Right of Grievance Redressal: Submit a complaint to our Data Protection / Grievance Officer regarding any act or omission in respect of your data.
  • Right to Nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.
