Karnataka CM Shivakumar Alleges Sting Operation Attempts Against Him and Cabinet Colleagues

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has alleged that attempts have been made to conduct sting operations against him and his cabinet colleagues since he assumed office in June 2026. He claims to possess evidence, including photographs and documents, identifying those responsible. Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara and Home Minister Priyank Kharge supported these claims, citing credible intelligence reports. Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, however, accused Shivakumar of previously using a sting operation against his predecessor and challenged him to order a probe into his current allegations. Congress MLA Ganiga Ravi Kumar Gowda further alleged that a Union Minister and a Karnataka BJP leader hired private agencies to target state ministers.

Karnataka government bans sale and distribution of tobacco and nicotine products for one year
