The Prime Minister linked the observance to the Swadeshi Movement, which was launched on August 7, 1905, as a protest against British rule. He stated that celebrating the day serves to honor India's rich cultural traditions and provides economic support to millions of weaver families. By encouraging social media engagement, the initiative aims to increase the visibility of local craftsmanship and strengthen the livelihoods of small-scale artisans across the country.
