Bombay High Court grants bail to Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre in assault case

The Bombay High Court granted bail to Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre and four co-accused individuals involved in an assault case at a hospital in Thane. Following the court's decision, Mhatre was released from Adharwadi Jail on Saturday afternoon. Supporters gathered outside the prison to greet him upon his release, and he subsequently stated that he would abide by the court's future decisions regarding the case.

The court has ordered a fast-tracked trial for the incident and directed authorities to file the chargesheet within a specified timeframe. As part of the bail conditions, the court has prohibited the accused from remaining in Maharashtra until the chargesheet is submitted. Mhatre, who is 71 years old, was released alongside three other co-accused named Ramesh Laxman Pawar, Prakash Uddhav Nikam, and Akshay Sharad Karande.
