Canadian police arrest Abdul Ghafoori for murder of Himanshi Khurana

Toronto police arrested 32-year-old Abdul Ghafoori at an airport on Friday, seven months after he was identified as a suspect in the death of his partner, Himanshi Khurana. Khurana, a 30-year-old woman of Indian origin, was reported missing on December 19, 2023, from the area of Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West. Her body was discovered by authorities the following morning, and investigators subsequently classified the incident as a homicide.

Following the discovery of the body, police issued a warrant for Ghafoori on a charge of first-degree murder. Authorities coordinated with national and international agencies to locate the suspect, who had fled the country. The arrest marks a significant development in a case that was recorded as the 40th homicide in Toronto during the previous year.
