Iron-laden truck overturns in Gajapati district blocking National Highway 326

A truck carrying iron ore overturned on the Bhimadali Ghat road in the Mohana block of Gajapati district, Odisha, on Thursday morning after a tire burst. The accident occurred while the vehicle was traveling from Berhampur to Rayagada, causing the truck to lose control and block the road. The incident has completely halted traffic on the Rayagada-Berhampur National Highway, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded on both sides of the route.

What Happened

A truck loaded with iron materials was traveling from Berhampur to Rayagada when it reached the Bhimadali Ghat in the Khariguda Gram Panchayat area of Gajapati district. According to reports, a tire on the truck suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The truck subsequently overturned in the middle of the road, obstructing the path.

The accident has resulted in a complete blockage of the Rayagada-Berhampur National Highway. Traffic movement in both directions has been suspended, leading to a significant accumulation of hundreds of small and large vehicles waiting on either side of the site.
