Lashkar-e-Taiba affiliate threatens Kashmiri Pandit government employees

The United Liberation Council, an affiliate of the militant organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, issued a threatening letter targeting Kashmiri Pandit government employees in Jammu and Kashmir. The communication, which reportedly surfaced on August 7, explicitly lists the names and phone numbers of several individuals working in various government departments, including the revenue department. The group claims to have gathered detailed information regarding the employees, their family members, and their residential locations.

The threats have created a climate of insecurity for government staff serving in the region. Beyond the specific warnings directed at Kashmiri Pandit employees, the letter also includes threats against police personnel and the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The militant group stated that these individuals remain vulnerable to attacks regardless of whether they attempt to relocate to Jammu, as the organization asserts it maintains surveillance over their movements and professional activities.
