Mobile phone seized from Prajwal Revanna in Bengaluru Central Prison

The Central Crime Branch conducted a surprise raid on high-profile prisoners at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru on August 11. During the search, officials discovered a mobile phone, a charger, and a pen drive in the possession of former MP Prajwal Revanna. Police subsequently registered a new FIR at the Parappana Agrahara police station under the Karnataka Prisons Act to investigate how the prohibited electronic devices were introduced into the high-security facility.

In response to the security breach, prison authorities suspended an assistant superintendent and issued a show-cause notice to the prison superintendent. Revanna has been stripped of his VIP cell privileges and transferred to a general barracks where he is required to share facilities with other inmates and wear a standard prison uniform. While some reports alleged the presence of pornographic content on the seized device, Bengaluru police officials have publicly refuted these claims as false.
