Passenger arrested for attempting to open emergency exit on Batik Air flight to Kochi

A passenger named Jamsheer Athanikkal was taken into custody by police at Kochi airport on Thursday morning. He had been traveling on Batik Air flight OD231 from Kuala Lumpur to Kochi on Wednesday. During the flight, between 9:30 pm and 11:05 pm, the passenger allegedly attempted to force open the aircraft's emergency exit. He also caused damage to the window panel of the exit and reportedly threatened both the cabin crew and other passengers on board.

The incident has led to an investigation into the endangerment of flight safety. Authorities have filed a first information report regarding the actions of the passenger.
