Centre informs Supreme Court of missing Indian seafarers after drone attack

The Indian government reported to the Supreme Court on Friday that two Indian sailors remain missing after a merchant vessel was targeted by a drone attack near Ukraine. Search operations involving land, sea, and air assets have been conducted in collaboration with Ukrainian and Romanian maritime security agencies and the Indian embassy. Despite these efforts, authorities have been unable to locate the missing crew members.

The Supreme Court has intervened to ensure that the families of the affected seafarers receive necessary financial support. The court directed the relevant authorities to facilitate the processing of maritime insurance payments. This measure is intended to provide assistance to the families while the search efforts continue to yield no results.
