Indian Air Force Wing Commander arrested for allegedly leaking defence secrets

Delhi Police arrested an Indian Air Force Wing Commander in late May following allegations that he shared sensitive defence information with Pakistani intelligence operatives. The officer was reportedly lured through a honey trap orchestrated by a woman on social media, who established a rapport to gain access to classified documents and military operational details. Authorities have also accused the officer of attempting to install data-stealing software on a colleague's mobile device to further compromise security.

The officer is currently held in Tihar Jail, and a charge sheet was submitted to the court on July 30. The investigation, which involved close monitoring by Air Force intelligence, suggests the possibility of a broader espionage network. The officer has been charged under the Official Secrets Act, and the matter is now pending judicial proceedings.
