Dharmendra Pradhan addresses resignation following NEET paper leak protests

Dharmendra Pradhan addressed students and faculty at GM University in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, two weeks after resigning from his position as Union Education Minister. He stated that his decision to step down followed protests related to the NEET paper leak, during which he believed certain individuals attempted to mislead the younger generation. Pradhan noted that he had met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the situation and offer his resignation, asserting that the ministerial post was not his primary concern.

The resignation occurred after weeks of student demonstrations, including protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, regarding the NEET examination controversy. Pradhan, who remains the Member of Parliament for Sambalpur, described the younger generation as the nation's future and emphasized their aspirations. While some reports highlighted the political pressure surrounding the protests, Pradhan framed his departure as a response to the exploitation of student grievances.
