Ink thrown at AISA president Neha Bora during student protest in Ranchi

A man threw ink at All India Students Association president Neha Bora in Ranchi on Friday during a protest march against alleged irregularities in Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission recruitment exams. The incident took place near Birsa Chowk as student groups, including AISA and AISF, were marching toward the state assembly. Police detained the individual, who reportedly accused Bora of being anti-national and a supporter of Umar Khalid. Bora stated that she would not be intimidated by the attack, citing her past experiences with police action during protests in Delhi.

The protest, which has entered its fourteenth day, involves students demanding a transparent recruitment process and a CBI inquiry into alleged paper leaks and exam misconduct. While Bora alleged that the attack was carried out by RSS-backed individuals, the state BJP claimed the incident appeared to be a staged drama, noting that AISA is the student wing of a party within the ruling coalition. The incident has drawn attention to the ongoing tensions surrounding the recruitment protests in the state capital.
