Political row erupts over purification ritual at Haldwani Ramlila Ground

A purification ritual was conducted at the Ramlila Ground in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, shortly after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge held a rally at the venue. The ritual was performed by members of the Shri Ram Sena Dharmarth Seva Nyas. Images and videos of the event were subsequently circulated on social media, drawing significant public and political attention.

The incident has sparked a confrontation between the Congress and the BJP. Congress representatives have alleged that the purification was performed because Kharge is a Dalit. In response, the BJP has denied these allegations and asserted that the ritual was a protest against remarks made during the rally that they claim insulted Sanatan Dharma.
