RTI responses confirm 10 pellet injuries during July 20 Delhi protest

On July 20, a protest march known as Chalo Sansad, organized by the Cockroach Janta Party, took place in New Delhi. During the event, police and the Rapid Action Force engaged with demonstrators, resulting in injuries to participants. RTI responses from Lady Hardinge Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital have now confirmed that at least 10 people were treated for pellet or projectile injuries following the march.

These findings follow earlier reports that suggested a lower number of injuries during the Jantar Mantar protest. Saket Gokhale, who filed the RTI queries, noted that he is still awaiting responses from other medical facilities, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The updated figures highlight a discrepancy between initial estimates and the records provided by the government-run hospitals.
