Vande Mataram to be performed at Red Fort for 80th Independence Day

For the first time in history, the national song Vande Mataram will be performed at the Red Fort during the 80th Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the event, which marks the 150th anniversary of the song composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh announced that the performance will take place upon the Prime Minister's arrival at the venue, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony and the Prime Minister's address to the nation.

What Happened

The Indian government has announced that the national song Vande Mataram will be performed at the Red Fort during the 80th Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
