Typhoon Dolphin makes landfall on China's eastern coast

Typhoon Dolphin made landfall along the eastern coast of China on Sunday, moving through areas between Sanmen in Zhejiang Province and Fuding in Fujian Province. The storm brought intense rainfall and winds reaching speeds of approximately 150 to 160 kilometers per hour. In response to the approaching weather system, Chinese authorities issued a red alert, the highest level in the national typhoon warning system, and evacuated more than one million residents from vulnerable coastal regions.

The typhoon caused significant disruption to infrastructure and daily life, particularly in the commercial hub of Shanghai. Major airports in the city cancelled over 1,000 flights, and rail services were suspended in several areas. The storm had previously impacted Japan, where it caused power outages and heavy rain in the Okinawa and Amami islands. As the typhoon moved inland and began to weaken, authorities continued to monitor risks associated with flooding and landslides.
