Mother and son die from snake bites in Gajapati district

A family in Kadambatal village, located within the Jalanga panchayat of Rayagada block, was struck by a fatal incident when two snakes entered their home during the night. Ajay Kumar Badarait, who was sleeping alongside his wife Lalita, their seven-year-old son Amit, and their infant daughter, was awakened by the cries of his wife and son. Upon waking, he discovered two snakes inside the house. The victims were immediately transported to the Rayagada Community Health Centre for medical attention.

Due to the critical condition of the mother and son, they were referred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Paralakhemundi for further care. Despite the efforts of medical staff, both individuals passed away while undergoing treatment. The incident has caused significant distress within the local community.
