Sonam Wangchuk alleges breach of agreement by Union Ministers regarding hunger strike

Environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike, which was held in support of students protesting the NEET paper leak. Following the conclusion of his fast at a hospital in Gurugram, Wangchuk alleged that Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh failed to uphold an agreement made during a private midnight meeting. He stated that the plan was to announce the end of the hunger strike jointly with student representatives and opposition leaders.

Wangchuk claims that the government violated the terms of their discussion by releasing photographs of the event before the agreed-upon conditions were met. He expressed frustration regarding the conduct of political leaders, noting that the premature release of the images undermined the understanding he had reached with the ministers. The incident has led to public criticism from Wangchuk regarding the government's handling of the situation.
